Everything you need to know about navigating our Discord community

> HOW_TO_JOIN_THE_SERVER

Download Discord from discord.com/download if you don't have it yet

Create an account or login to Discord

Click "Join Discord" button - you'll be redirected to Discord authorization page

Authorize the bot by clicking the "Authorize" button on the Discord OAuth page

The bot will automatically add you to the server after authorization

Check your email for the authorization link

If you get disconnected, you can find the authorization link in your registration confirmation email

Click "Authorize" to allow the bot to add you to the server automatically

> HOW_TO_SEE_ALL_CHANNELS

Some channels, including private team channels, may be hidden by default. Here's how to make sure you can see all available channels:

🔍 METHOD 1: Browse Channels

Use the Browse Channels feature to discover all available channels on the server.

Look for the "Browse Channels" button in the left sidebar

Click it to see a list of all channels you have access to

Join any channels you want to participate in

👁️ METHOD 2: Show All Channels

Enable "Show All Channels" to always see every channel in the sidebar.

Right-click on the server name at the top left

Find and click "Show All Channels" option

All channels will now be visible in your sidebar (including hidden team channels)

Enable "Show All Channels" to see all channels in the sidebar

💡 IMPORTANT: If you're in a team, make sure to enable "Show All Channels" so you can see your private team channel and collaborate with your teammates!

Check upcoming meetings and live sessions in the top left corner of the server.

🎭 STAGE CHANNELS

▸ Listen to speakers and watch their presentations

▸ Raise your hand (✋) to ask questions

▸ Used for opening ceremony, workshops, and Q&A sessions

🎤 VOICE CHANNELS

▸ Voice chat with microphone and speakers/headphones

▸ Video calls with webcam support

▸ Share your screen with other participants

▸ Perfect for team collaboration and brainstorming

💬 TEXT CHANNELS

▸ Read important information and announcements

▸ Discuss challenges and ask questions

▸ Share resources, links, and code snippets

▸ Best for async communication across timezones

> HOW_TO_JOIN_STAGE_BROADCASTS

Check your audio settings

Go to User Settings ⚙️ → Voice & Video to select your microphone and speakers/headphones

Find the Stage channel

Look for channels with the 🎭 Stage icon in the voice channels section

Join as a listener

Click the channel to enter. You'll hear the speaker and see their screen share when the session starts

Raise your hand to ask questions

Click the ✋ hand icon. Moderators will invite you to speak when it's your turn

Click "Request to Speak" or the hand icon to raise your hand

Your role on the server determines your nickname color and permissions. Here's what each role means:

ChallengeMaster- Challenge creators and curators who can answer domain questions

Jury- Expert judges evaluating final submissions

Participant- All registered hackathon participants (that's you!)
